Great Ask Me Anything session with SousChef, CTO BarbecueSwap and Our Team (Phil and Joe) held 11th May. The session which lasted for over an hour started 14:00 UTC. Phil introduced our guest: SousChef before calling Joe on to present community questions we collected via AMA form, We received over 120 questions but time only permitted Joe present a few of them: This recap shows the session conversation
Phil: Greetings all! Thank you for joining us today for this exciting AMA session 🙂
I’m Phil representing Blockchain Brothers, With my colleague, Joe.
SousChef: Hey! Thank you very much for the invitation! You can tell that you guys work hard and it is appreciated.
Joe: Hello Good day
Phil: Great thanks! SousChef is live here with us from BarbecueSwap.
Before we proceed, You can find some solid informations about BarbecueSwap here https://barbecueswap.medium.com/
Once again, SousChef, thanks for joining us, Please kindly introduce yourself to our audience 🙂
SousChef: My name is Mark. I’m the CTO of BarbecueSwap. I have been working in Cryptocurrencies for 3 years and in the DeFi ecosystem for 7 months, building Barbecue
Phil: Nice e-meeting you Mark!
SousChef: Same Phil!
Phil: Before having Joe present questions collected from our community, I have some questions myself :)
Mark, Why BarbecueSwap?
I understand you are building a fork of Pancake-swap 🙂 what is it your team is trying to do better than Pancakeswap?
SousChef: We love Pancake. We are huge fans of its growth and its success. It seems to us that the market needs innovations from Pancake. Why do I say this? Because Pancake had great success but it is clear what its path is. Its innovations are not so great and it is clear what his path will be. Ours is to imitate the pancake at first (thats why we are forked) and then opt for different paths. Putting more emphasis on the community and not so much on profits. The developments are not going to be the same. I’ll tell you about that later on
Phil: Yes innovations are welcome :)
Ok SousChef! I have more fun questions about Barbecue’s I’d love to ask at the end of this session.!
Now, I will have Joe present questions we collected from our community, We collected more than 120 questions! Not so much time for all that.. So Joe please let’s have the maybe ok ones :+1:🏼
SousChef: Sure! i´d love to hear them
Joe: Hello Mark
What are your current plans to onboard new clients and what market are you targeting knowing have lots of competitions?
SousChef: We do not see the other projects as direct competition. Sometimes you can put things together.
Our plan is developments.
Be transparent with what we do.
We are fulfilling everything we said we were going to do and the community loves it. That community is recommending barbecue and that will bring more and more people. Transparency, honesty and developments. Of course Marketing will help also
Joe: Great Mark
I am a crypto investor and I only care about prospect of a crypto that I chose, tell me the reason why I should choose your token over the existing one? What is your token advantage that can convince me to change from my favorite token?
SousChef: Great quesion Joe: $BBQ has now been available for 10 days at BSC. By the second day it was enlisted in Coingecko. After 3 days on DappRadar. At 4 in DAPP. We have constant burning mechanisms that make it deflationary. The token is a gem recently discovered by some who are dedicated to researching projects. The projection we make of the price gives us that it may be in a month muuuuuch more than it is now (It would be unethical to say an exact number) The advantage is that we are predictable with what we do. We announce burns and we do them! which gives you more information to invest.
Phil: Plus sweet staking APRs!
SousChef: Also that. YES
Joe: What exactly is the Grill Function going to look like?
SousChef: The grill will be a module for other projects (always successful and reliable, with healthy tokens) so that the comunnity can stake them and earn BBQs. It will give us a jump on the platform in the Partnerships. Also, it will allow us to generate more to burn. Fees are going to be burned and many are going to be generated.
Joe: Amazing
Do you have a written plan outlining how to handle a security incident?
SousChef: Very good question. .Security is paramount. The first thing that must always be said is that the Front-end in Defi projects do not have much importance. Investors can always know what happens on the Blockchain. The blockchain is secure and transparent. In case of security incidents we have the obligation to be sincere and honest with the community. Tell them what is happening and how it is solved. We have to write a plan, yes. But it is essential that people understand that the blockchain is transparent and difficult to manipulate..
Joe: Impressive
Was any portion of your system excluded from the audit?
SousChef: Of course not. The audit was done with all smart contracts. It is essential to be well audited. We did not stay there either, we are going to do a second audit that will give more confidence to the community.
Joe: Ok, great
How do you pick projects that will be on your launchpad (IFO)?
SousChef: We are going to put a forms. With various requirements. It is already ready and will be on the platform at any moment. What you must always keep in mind is that you are looking for reliable, audited projects with a long-term projection.
Phil: Yes, safer and good interest for the community
Joe: What’s inspired you to named souschef, barbecueswap? Is it because you having barbecueswap party with chef familiar with sous which happens to be your brother?
Phil: LOL
SousChef: 🤣🤣. We just love barbecue. We also love the concept that the barbecue uses constant fire to burn. We also love that if you put passion and dedication into it, it comes out more delicious.
Phil: :joy::joy: This is awesome
Some delicious $BBQs! :meat_on_bone:
Joe: I just received a question on this.
What if the project is trying to start with a unique team but no audit how do you intend to handle this?
Because most projects launch before audit
SousChef: No audit . no IFO. The audit can be done before launch if you do things correctly.
Joe: Interesting
Most users only care about immediate benefits rather than the real value of the project in the long-term. How can Your Project convince users invest to your platform in the long-term?
SousChef: From day one we have been saying that Barbecue is a long-term project. The developments are what are going to do that. Today we are a platform to do staking and farming with a governance token that has a lot of future but in 1 week we will have a lottery, in 1 month we will have an NFT Marketplace. And it is only in the short term. In the long term, big developments are going to be seen. Possible partnerships with other blockchain chains, listed in reputable exchanges, Borrow & Supply. The limit is the sky. I tell investors to participate in the community that we rely on them to see what they like and what gives them more money.
Joe: Amazing developments
If you discover a vulnerability which places funds at risk, would you preemptively exploit it to protect the funds?
SousChef: If we discover vulnerabilities, we ensure the security of the project, ALWAYS. Security and trust is essential for the project to grow. Lets remember that the funds are not of the proyect, they belong to the community and they are on blockchain tecnology
Joe: Ok, Now to my last question
In the long run, what unique feature or service does BBQSwap have to its investors on this DeFi space?
Do you have any airdrop for holders or stakers?
SousChef: Yes we have. Lots of ideas. They are an innovation. To make it public would be to give ideas to the other projects. We want to be the first to get it out. I’m just telling you that the Barbecue development team has already worked on DeFi projects and made some of the most innovative developments in the ecosystem. Stay tuned on Barbecue.. And yes we are planning on doing a Giveaway. We believe Airdrop are not good for the project. Its a nice marketing move but is inflationary. The community understands this.
Joe: OK great
That should be all for now from me
Phil: Ok great! Thanks a lot Joe
I’m sure SousChef has an answer for all 120+ questions but time will not permit we take them all 🙂
Thanks SousChef for your answers.
Now, I will have the chat opened in a quick flash to have live members present questions

We have a lot of people of latin America. They are generally countries with failed economic policies that tend to make people rely on projects like ours. It is our responsibility to think about them and help them do well.
Phil: Great, you gave answers to 5 questions already bringing us to the end of that segment and the closing minutes of this AMA session
SousChef: Great!
Phil: We enjoyed having you here and love to see more events with BarbecueSwap Finance! :)
Now one more question from me to draw the curtain!
SousChef: Ok Great
Phil: Barbecue is usually done over woods or charcoal, Do you plan to have more projects “cooked” on your platform in the future outside the Binance smart chain?
SousChef: I love this question! It is a good idea. If we release out another project, it will surely have something to do with Barbecue!
And yes. We are optimist on the BSC but we dont shut doors
Phil: Interesting, Maybe like Fries :joy:
SousChef: :joy::joy::joy:
Phil: Thanks once again for joining us today, We have come to the end of this session..
SousChef..one last word from you?
SousChef: Thank you very much for the invitation. I hope it is clear that barbecue is a long-term project. And let this day remain as a reminder that Barbecueswap did an AMA with BlockBrothers. We love how you work and we wish you and your entire community the best of luck.
Phil: Honored! Thank you SousChef 🙂
SousChef: Thank you Phil. Take care
Phil: That is the end guys! Now on to our exciting giveaway! (The AMA session successfully ended with giveaway to the audience)
